Johnathan Dye, owner of Mr. Dye’s Pie’s recently moved into a retail space at 5513 W. North Ave. He shares the retail space with Fathead Jerky, owned by Christine Roberts.
Dye secured a Kiva Zip loan to purchase a commercial convection oven to meet his growing demand. Then, with the help of Alderman Russel Stamper II, the retail space was found.
“It’s a work in progress,” says Dye. “But, I think it’s working well. People might think jerky and pie is an odd combination. But I know people looking for jerky, and now I have a place to sell my pies.”
Dye is currently working on new combinations of desserts but continues to sell his classic sweet potatoe pie, Pecan Delight, and key lime pies. Read more at OnMilwaukee.com.
