Field for 8th Congressional District could be crowded

Former Democratic state Rep. Penny Bernard Schaber said she is deciding whether to run for the 8th District seat following the weekend announcement from Rep. Reid Ribble (R-Sherwood) that he will not seek another term.

“Right now, I’m not saying yes or no (on a possible run),” Bernard Schaber said.

The only other confirmed Democrat considering a bid is Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson. Nelson previously served in the state Assembly, including a stint as the Assembly Majority Leader, and ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor in 2010.
