Milwaukee County Could Get a New Rapid Transit Line

Milwaukee County plans two April hearings to get input on a potential route and other details of a bus rapid transit line that would link downtown Milwaukee and Wauwatosa.

The planning for the so-called BRT route is being fast-tracked so local officials can apply for federal funding in August. Planners hope to have approvals this summer from Milwaukee County and the cities of Milwaukee and Wauwatosa for a final system route and other details, such as station locations and areas buses may run on dedicated driving lanes.
