From Green Bay Press Gazette:
GREEN BAY – One of the most popular rides at Bay Beach Amusement Park will remain closed for at least two more weeks.
The city is inspecting the Zippin Pippin in efforts to make it fully operational again. The investigation comes after one of the roller coaster’s two trains failed to come to a complete stop and rear-ended the other car, which was empty at the time. The incident, which happened Monday, sent three people to the hospital, including two employees and a child.
The coaster’s cars are being shipped to the manufacturer in Philadelphia for further inspection and recertification, according to a news release sent out by Mayor Jim Schmitt’s office.
