Saint Louis, MO, USA - March 12, 2016: Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton campaigns at Carpenters Training Center in St. Louis.

In national politics, Wisconsin is a battleground state and President Obama announced his endorsement for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

From Politico:

Two days after Hillary Clinton secured enough delegates to be the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, President Obama endorsed Clinton on Thursday in a video.

“I want to congratulate Hillary Clinton on making history,” Obama says in the video. “I know how hard this job can be. That’s why I know Hillary will be so good at it. I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office.”

Shortly before news of the endorsement was released, Clinton told NPR’s Tamara Keith, “Well, I’m thrilled that the president has endorsed me. We started off as fierce competitors. We’ve ended up as true friends.”
