The body of one of the two missing young men we reported earlier today was recovered today afternoon.
Authorities say they have recovered at least one body but refuse to give out the names until the second body is recovered. However, the search continues for the second body.
A prayer vigil was on schedule earlier today at 6 p.m. for the two young men in Sturgeon Bay that was hosted by friends and family.
Shortly after they went for a walk with their St. Norbert College friends, Dylan Abeyta and Jeremy Wheat, the two young men, Adam have gone missing since Sunday afternoon after they had been swept off South Pier in Sheboygan into Lake Michigan.
Sheboygan Press reported earlier:
Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Jason Lierman said authorities would not release the names of either victims until the second body is recovered. However, LaLuzern and Ahonen have been identified by friends and by the church.
Sheboygan County Sheriff Todd Priebe said recovery teams have used sonar to locate the missing men, but strong currents have hindered the search.
“It’s been very challenging for the divers,” Priebe said.
Priebe said the men were part of a group of college-aged friends who were visiting the lakefront Sunday afternoon.
