Wisconsin is working to be on the forefront of on wind energy and technology. The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) headquarted in Custer, Wis. is offering open registration for the basics of wind systems, advanced climbing and repair skills.

Registration is now open for “Wind Week,” with small wind energy systems courses being offered Sept. 6–9 at the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) headquarters in Custer, Wis. The courses cover the basics of wind systems, advanced climbing and repair skills.
Courses include:
Introduction to Tower Climbing and Safety
Wind System Repair and Maintenance (both intro courses are prerequisites)
“If you’re even remotely interested in a wind turbine, either for your home or for your cabin in the woods, Intro to Wind is a ‘must-take’ course,” say MREA Training Coordinator and instructor Jenny Heinzen. “And for those who are serious about installing and/or climbing a tower for inspection or repairs, stick around for Intro to Climbing and Repair and Maintenance. It’s exhilarating and fun.”
