Travel woes continue for passengers as a worldwide outage at Delta airlines causes major delays and cancellations throughout the state.
The Appleton Post Crescent reports:
A worldwide Delta Air Lines system outage grounded Delta flights out of Appleton International Airport on Monday.
The airport’s early morning flights to Atlanta, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Detroit were cancelled, the airport said.
“We’re just waiting for Delta to give us the go-ahead,” said Patrick Tracey, an airport spokesman.
An overnight power outage in Atlanta “impacted Delta computer systems and operations worldwide,” the airline said. A ground stop was lifted and limited departures began to resume about 7:40 a.m., but the airline said cancellations and delays continued.
