15 WI Chamber members score perfect 100 on Corporate Equality Index


Fifteen members of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce received a score of 100 and the distinction of being one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality” on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index compiled by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. This is an increase from 10 businesses receiving the same score last year.

Those businesses receiving a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index, and who are members of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, include:

Husch Blackwell LLP 
Morgan Stanley
Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance 
Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart
PNC Financial Services Group
Quarles & Brady LLP
Rockwell Automation 
S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. 
Wells Fargo

“We are thrilled to have 15 members of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce receive a perfect score on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index,” said Jason Rae, exective director of the Wisconsoin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. “We know firsthand that these businesses have a deep committment to equality in the workplace and are actively helping build a more diverse business community in Wisconsin. We offer them our sincerest congratulations on this great achievement.”

In addition to those businesses, a number of Chamber members scored significantly high on this year’s Corporate Equality Index. Those businesses and their scores are: Alliant Energy, 90; BMO Harris Bank, 90; Bon-Ton Stores, 85; Caterpillar, 90; Johnson Controls, 75; Kohl’s, 95; Robert W. Baird & Co.., 95.

“We are proud of all of our businesses that scored well on the Corporate Equality Index,” added Rae. “We look forward to working first hand with them as we continue to build a pro-fairness business community in Wisconsin.”

Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2017 Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. In this year’s CEI report, 517 major businesses earned a top score of 100 percent, up from 407 the previous year, and earned the distinction of “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.” A copy of the full report can be found here.
