430,000 Wisconsinites could lose vital health care

A win for President-elect Donald Trump, left scary unknowns hundreds of thousands of Americans. Many freedoms and protections that Americans have for enjoyed for the better part of the last eight years under President Obama, could all be wiped away in the Trump administration. One real fear for millions of Americans is the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

If Donald Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress move forward with their current plans to repeal the law, in Wisconsin alone, over 430,000 residents would lose their health coverage.

The ensure coverage by Jan. 1, December 15 is the last day to sign-up for open enrollment on the marketplace at healthcare.gov.

December 15 is also the day that progressive group Citizen Action of Wisconsin, health advocates, and other organization leaders will hold a moral candlelight vigil at 6pm outside of the Federal Courthouse, 517 E. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee.

This action will call attention to the Wisconsin residents who would have their health coverage ripped right from them if plans for repeal move forward with the Trump administration.
