Marquette University has one of 1,500 copies of rare Tolkien book

Marquette University is adding to their vast collection of J.R.R. Tolkien’s writings, sketches, paintings, games and documentaries.

According to the Associated Press Marquette University has acquired a very rare copy of “The Hobbit” by renowned author J.R.R. Tolkien.

The school says the first-edition, first-printing copy of Tolkien’s classic tale that was obtained by the school’s Department of Special Collections and University Archives is one of only 1,500 in existence. It features artwork drawn by Tolkien himself.
