Each week, an independent television series sets out to explore the stories behind what we eat in Wisconsin. Last week the Wisconsin Foodie crew was presented the award at the 2016 Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Awards.
Wisconsin Foodie, was nominated in the category of Outstanding Achievement for Magazine Programming – Series for an episode that details Stoney Acres Pizza Farm in Athens, Wisconsin, located in North-central Wisconsin.
Stoney Acres Pizza Farm started in 2012 and is ran by a new generation of farmers. Two graduates of UW-Madison, Kat and Tony run a pop-up pizza restaurant every Friday during the summer and fall. All of their wheat, vegetables, meat and cheese come for a local dairy. New episodes of Wisconsin Foodie will air on PBS in Milwaukee.
