Mills Fleet Farm expands to Chippewa Valley

The $64.8 million development hopes to bring 325 jobs to the business park within five years.

CHIPPEWA FALLS – Mills Fleet Farm is planning to open a distribution center in a business park in Chippewa Falls, bringing hundreds of jobs to the region.

The Lake Wissota Business Park development agreement will include Mills Fleet Farm Group, Ryan Cos. US and DHL Supply Chain.

Chippewa Falls Mayor Greg Hoffman said, “A project of this scope, you don’t have an opportunity like this come along often,” he said. “It can have a significant impact on the whole Chippewa Valley, not just Chippewa Falls.”

Charlie Walker, Chippewa County Economic Development Corp. told the Eau Claire Leader Telegram that the company plans to have 325 workers at the facility within five years. The cost of the project is about $64.8 million, construction could begin this spring with the building expected to open in 2018.
