APPLETON – The Appleton School Board used social media to announce their next Superintendent.
According to the Post-Crescent
The Appleton School Board has named Judy Baseman as the next superintendent of the Appleton Area School District.
The school district announced the decision on social media at about 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
Baseman has served as an assistant superintendent in Appleton since 2007. Prior to that, she was principal at Stephen Foster Elementary Charter School from 1999-2007 and an associate principal at Wilson Middle School from 1995-1999.
Kay Eggert, vice president of the school board, said the board made its decision late Tuesday night after conducting its last interviews with the finalists.
Besides Baseman, the board met with Ben Vogel, an assistant superintendent in Appleton, and Van Truong, executive director of teaching and learning at Portland Public Schools in Portland, Oregon. The finalists also met with community committees on Tuesday for interviews.
The board chose Baseman for her record of leadership in the district, including her involvement in the community 4K program and the Community Early Learning Center, among others, Eggert said.
