Lake Express Ferry accepting bike donations

MILWAUKEE – The Lake Express Ferry, which runs from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Muskegon, Michigan is accepting donations of “gently used” bikes for their annual program. The program ran in partnership with the Milwaukee Bicycle Collective, allows donors to receive a free round-trip ticket for the ferry.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel 

“Now in its seventh year, this program continues to grow in popularity and we’re thrilled to be able to help provide bicycles that are put to good use throughout the region,” Aaron Schultz, vice president of marketing of Lake Express, said in a press release.

The non-profit Milwaukee Bicycle Collective “provides affordable resources for bicycle repair and instruction, as well as refurbished bicycles, parts, and accessories,” the release said.

Donors can bring bikes to the Lake Express terminal, 2330 S. Lincoln Memorial Drive between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
